De Kalkovens is a unique monument and is located right on the water with a beautiful view of 't Gooimeer, the Nautical Quarter and the old Huizer Harbour. This unique location contains a warm, atmospheric interior with clear references to the building's fascinating industrial history.

Cake & Toast

The cosy terrace at De Kalkovens is the perfect place to toast to your happiness! Make your wedding reception a fun event. Usually, the cake cutting and the toast take place just after you have said yes. It is also the perfect moment during your wedding to get together with your guests and toast to your love and happiness during the wedding, and then have a drink and a chat with your guests. A super special moment that should definitely not be missed at your wedding!

Culinary

After your toast moment, you and your guests can enjoy a romantic dinner by candlelight under the stars. Imagine dining outside at a long table, completely styled according to your wishes. Enjoying the most culinary dishes! Or dining in our atmospheric Pavilion in the Tussenzolder which is also one of the many options this unique location has to offer. Enjoy a buffet, a served dinner or a walking dinner. As the name suggests, the Tussenzolder is located in one of the attics and has an overwhelming panoramic view of the Old Harbour of Huizen. This space is particularly suitable for an intimate dinner for up to 35 people. Of course, you can also join us with several guests. Our restaurant and terrace are perfect for this!

Party evening

De Kalkovens offers many possibilities to get your wedding party off to a splashing start. Conclude your wedding day on our attractive outdoor terrace with a beautiful opening dance while the torches and lights add a warm and magical atmosphere to this beautiful spot. Getting married outdoors has its risks. Should the weather not be great, you can still have a great wedding, but in a stretch tent or indoors! In particular, we highly recommend our Blushuis. With its iron ornaments and beautiful tiled floor, the Blushuis is a stylish space suitable for as many as 200 celebrating guests. It is cosy and warmly decorated with a large bar and a fireplace. A swinging party band or a hip DJ, delicious drinks and exquisite snacks ensure a roaring end to the day!

Overnight stay

Within walking distance of De Kalkovens, you will find Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Nautisch Kwartier at the head of the Oude Haven, directly on the Gooimeer. You can get your wedding off to a good start by choosing to spend the night before your wedding day with us in one of the 80 modern hotel rooms.

Start the day with a delicious breakfast in your room after which you can calmly prepare for the big day. To conclude a fantastic wedding day, you can spend the night in our beautiful, modern suite overlooking the water, where a bottle of Fletcher's Bubbles awaits you. Besides enjoying the beautiful view, you can also relax in the suite with whirlpool bath and rain shower.

The Kalkovens offers plenty of possibilities for a pleasant get-together with family and friends and has several atmospheric rooms. The rooms can be decorated according to your wishes and have a capacity of 450 persons. We are happy to take some of the care out of your hands. We provide a tastefully decorated venue and a warm welcome for your guests with a delicious drink. We are also happy to provide the dance floor with entertainment. You can also leave the culinary arrangements to us. Of course, there is the possibility of using several rooms with different appearances on your wedding day.
